The World Energy Council traditionally supports the German-African Energy Forum as a partner. With 400 visitors and participants from over 35 African countries every year, the Energy Forum is the most important platform for European-African cooperation in the energy sector.
In 2019 the focus was on the implementation and financing of the African Energy Revolution. The forum concentrates on the financing of energy projects on the African continent.
In addition to new financing opportunities, e.g. in the framework of the G20 Compact with Africa, innovative approaches to financing off-grid projects and financing partnerships, the conference will also focus on digitalisation in the energy sector, renewable energies such as hydropower and hybrid systems, and the thermal recycling of waste.
