Women at the Forefront of COVID-19 Crisis Response

Referentin: Lana Djurkin-Koenig is security professional with more than 16 years of experience in national, international and corporate security. In her current role she leads internal corporate security and business resilience function of EY GSA, second largest region of EY globally. It spans over 40 locations in Germany, Switzerland, Austria and Liechtenstein and covers more than 15 000 colleagues. Before that, she was coordinator of the Global Security Situation Center for the Deutsche Post DHL Group’s Corporate Security, where she focused on comprehensive security intelligence analysis to support relevant decision makers at the strategic level in managing their security risks and challenges. Before joining DPDHL, Lana worked internationally in several positions in the field of security and was awarded a NATO Medal while working for ISAF in Afghanistan. Lana holds Master Degrees in Political Science (University of Zagreb) and Law (University of Split), as well as an MBA from the Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Science. In parallel she teaches as a guest lecturer topic of Bioterrorism at the Faculty of Agro-biotechnical sciences and Security Risk Management in NGOs at the University of Applied Sciences Bonn-Rhein-Sieg. She is proud to be a mother of one son, 3 animals and a wife of a German career officer.
In this talk I will address how we prepared EY GSA for what came as a shock: we were the second company in Germany to have infection in the office after the initial Webasto case. I will guide the audience through our comprehensive crisis response and business continuity program, how it worked and lessons learnt from Covid-19 experience. At the end, I will address the topic of what is the future post COVID-19 new era bringing for corporate security overall and us in EY GSA particularly.
